Bounce Back is an intervention for elementary school children exposed to stressful and traumatic events developed by Dr. Audra Langley, PhD, from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and associates. The goal of the intervention program is to help teach students ways of coping with, and recovering from, traumatic experiences. The intervention program is based on Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) which has been shown to help middle school students recover after stressful events.
Bounce Back Learning Objectives:
1.Participants will learn the importance of providing a trauma intervention in schools.
2. Participants will learn about the effectiveness of Bounce Back! in reducing symptoms and improving students’ behaviors and academic indicators.
3. Participants will learn the steps for implementing each session of Bounce Back!
4. Participants will identify and discuss strategies for effectively implementing Bounce Back in their setting.
In order to attend the Bounce Back training, the participant must successfully complete the following two sections of the BounceBack online training module prior to April 5, 2019: Why a Trauma Program in Schools and Bounce Back History and Effectiveness, found on https://bouncebackprogram.org
Lunch will be Provided. Participants earn 6 CECs after completing training.
