This session will provide an overview of the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in gambling settings, particularly as it relates to responsible gambling interventions and tools. We will review what we mean by AI, how online gambling companies use AI to identify player risk, how AI might be incorporated into gambling treatment, and the important limitations of these systems. The session will conclude with ideas about how we might test and evaluate AI systems for safety, accuracy, and potential benefit.
