Training Description:   

This In-Person workshop equips professionals working with children, adolescents, and young adults to identify and address problem video gaming and gambling.  It explores the links between gaming and gambling, reviews epidemiology, risk factors, diagnosis, and comorbidities, and highlights practical, evidence-based assessment and treatment strategies to support youth experiencing behavioral addictions and related functional impairment.

Training Objectives: 

  1. Describe how new technologies have transformed video game play and    gambling among youth. 
  2. Understand how gaming and gambling can lead to addiction and impair functioning.
  3. Recognize how popular video games incorporate gambling to maximize engagement and profit. 
  4. Identify and diagnose gambling and gaming addiction in clinical practice.
  5. Address problematic gaming and gambling in clinical care.

Who Should Attend:  Therapists, Teachers, and Professionals who work with Children, Teens, and Young Adults.
