Description: This workshop is a unique opportunity to explore how mindfulness and spirituality can support recovery and enhance the qualities of surrender, connection, and accountability. 

This begins by understanding the development of the sense of self and how that must evolve into an observer self that can release attachment to the learned and adaptive self. 

Mindfulness is a practice of the observer self that is able to have a sense of being without reaction or conditioning of our past. The remaining time will cover the neurobiology of the mindful brain and how neuroplasticity is found in therapeutic connection.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how the development of the default mode network affects perspective.
  • Discover the effects of gambling on the working of the brain.
  • Discover the effects of mindfulness on the working of the brain.
  • Learn to be a mindful therapist to assist the ability of clients to connect.
  • Learn how Dopamine and Oxytocin compete.
  • Learn the process of surrender, connection, and accountability as a sign of recovery.

Approved for 2 Contact Hours through the CT Certification Board and IPGGC.
